1) How has social media and online communication affected your trial communication planning and engagement strategies with stakeholders?
depends on the area.it takes time mapping out what can go wrong and interpreting what the local community might say. engaging with stakeholders on issue management and communication plans.some rural areas might not be affected.
2) Have you ever experienced unexpected issues at your trial site or in your research context? How were they handled? What lessons were learned?
working with CABS help for unforeseen circumstances but for unexpected issues consult with the cabs for solutions or way forward.
DenverMemberhow do you sustain the motivation of the stakeholders ?
thats a tough one.
depends on the stakeholder expectation and that the trial did not change.
-keeping the stakeholder informed and the progress of the trial can help.
-conferences to show there is a need statistically
-stakeholder audits is allowed
-feedback
DenverMember– As per previous study. depends on the area she/he will represent the community but has to be part of the community for a long time and has been involved in the community before in a positive way.
– multiple partners is hard to manage, depending on area of expertise that conflicts.i feel dealing with with partners individually is more clear and then review both sides together and come to a conclusion.
people often see things differently also personalities
DenverMemberother links could be trust and understanding- touching base with the community before..
DenverMemberformative research is working with the community regarding the trials(briefing of information) before engagement is done.
DenverMemberAdolescents are resulting into drug abuse for many reason :
1. Lifestyle and peer pressure -> Alcohol and substance abuse -> Increase in STI’s
2. Poverty -> Selling Alcohol and Drugs to other adolescent -> Increase in adolescents Consuming alcohol and Drugs
We create awareness at the clinic regarding Alcohol and Substance abuse
At the community we enforce no under age purchasing of alcohol and watch for teenage suppliers and report to local authority
DenverMemberBenefit received from stakeholder engagement in a rural areas Ugu North District Durban SA

murder of babies on account of their sex, child sexual abuse, sex trafficking and forced labour, sexual coercion and abuse, neglect, domestic violence, elder abuse, harmful traditional practices such as early and forced marriage, violence against those who are deemed to bring dishonor to the family or culture, and female/male genital mutilation/cutting.
In my community some occur and are reported to the police station, then taken to court. The Public does create awareness to avoid such being kept behind closed doors.
Example There are supporting NGO’s VAW (Violence against Woman)
DenverMemberHi I feel trials are ways of risks for success!!!
