HCV Worker Onboarding Series

Description:

Welcome to the Academy’s HCV worker onboarding series. This series will provide you with a baseline knowledge of essential information you need for your role as a new worker. You can use this series as an onboarding tool or refresher training. This training includes 8.5 hours of training materials.

Learning Objectives:

  • Acquire baseline knowledge of essential information needed to work with clients.
  • Understand client needs and how to support clients compassionately. 
  • Increase knowledge of stigma and harm reduction principles.
  • Develop self-care practices.
  • Learn best practices to prevent HCV.

Instructions:

  1. Complete the self-paced training series by clicking on the “enter” button for each course. After you complete each course, you will see the updated status on your learner dashboard. Make sure you have your cookies enabled on your computer in order to track your completion status.
  2. Once you have completed your onboarding or refresher training, go to your learner dashboard. In the completed courses section, enter a date range and click on “print transcript.”
  3. Save your transcript as a pdf and upload it to the Training Record Upload tab found at the bottom of this page. If you have already completed any of the following courses, you do not have to retake the training. Your completion should already be recorded on your transcript. Just make sure that the date range you choose include the dates when you have completed the course.

06.6.24 11 am – 1 pm – Harm Reduction & Safety Planning (Online Training)

Training Overview:

This training will explore how safety planning can be an effective tool for harm reduction service providers when preventing violence or the escalation of violence through developing rapport with program participants and understanding the nature of violence. Drawing from motivational interviewing techniques and tools as well as the risk-set-setting model, session attendees will have the opportunity to develop a safety plan outline.

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Define violence.
  • Identify three strategies to build rapport with program participants.
  • Review the steps for creating a safety plan.

Continuing education units (CEUs) are available thanks to the Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI) for the following disciplines:  

  • Certified Addiction Professionals (CCAPP)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW)
  • Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEP)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT)
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC)
  • Registered Nurses (RN)

In order to receive your CEUs, you must complete the following:

  • Sign in and sign out of the training using the chat in Zoom.
  • Complete the evaluation after the training AND complete the 3 post-question quiz
  • You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training if you fill out the evaluation.
  • CEUs will be emailed to you within 1 month.

Attending one of these trainings fulfills the annual harm reduction training contract requirement, which is part of the SFDPH Declaration of Compliance for SFDPH systems of care and funded agencies that provide direct service to clients.

Annual Training for Authorized Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers 2024

This training reviews the basic responsibilities of Authorized Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers in San Francisco. Topics covered include updates to the City’s Cross-Connection Control Program, obtaining backflow tags, using CCAMS, maintaining a permit to operate, tester violations and enforcement, and tester responsibilities.

Directions

  1. Watch all five videos from the annual training. If you need to stop and come back later, please complete the video that you are on to prevent having to rewatch it when you return. You may download the transcripts of the videos on the lesson pages.
  2. After completing each video, select “next lesson” to record completion and to proceed to the next video.
  3. You may view the Q&A from the live webinar when you get to Video 5.
  4. Complete the quiz with a score of 90%. You will be allowed to retake the quiz if you do not pass.
  5. Click on the “Click here to complete” button upon completing the quiz. You will be redirected to your “My Learning” dashboard, where you can download your certificate to save for your records.

HCV Navigation Training (4/24/24 12:30-2:30pm)

Training Overview:

This training aims to support people who work directly with people who are at risk of or living with hepatitis C (HCV). The training will focus on the role that navigation plays in HCV care, relationship building, and practical strategies to support HCV care along with other goals or priorities. The training will feature a panel of experts from End Hep C SF’s Community Navigator program. A basic knowledge of HCV is helpful, but all are welcome and will be accommodated. Registration is open to staff of all CHEP-funded partners. 

Learning objectives:

  1. Be able to explain how navigation fits into the HCV care cascade
  2. Understand potential support roles that navigators can play and how these can benefit participants 
  3. Build awareness of how to engage participants and effectively build rapport 
  4. Learn person-centered navigation skills that can be used in a variety of settings including integrated service centers

CEs will not be offered for this training.
