Morning Anne, In my site we have not started but the ones we have now I know that we will keep them posted about every scientific agenda regarding this community and invite them for seminars that represent the new development in every study conducted in our trial site.
Mhmm this is painful, to me its like the government was not aware of this trial and its requirements. If they knew or the had these plans of the( Thai government waged a severe and widely publicized campaign against illegal drug use)why would they allow the sponsors to start the trial on the first place. The participant’s lives were at risk. The government form the on set shouldn’t have allowed the sponsors to carry on with the trial because they knew their future plan, I mean I am from the government set goals for a period of 5 years which is a term that is given to the ruling party.
Kelvin with all the experience I have there are things I never thought they are this important, GPP course has helped me a lot I feel like my work will be more easier from now on.

Outreach events. These can help me to facilitate the participation of Community Stakeholders in initial outreach and information gathering.The site is attaché dto the local University and the Provincial Hospital and I have a very good relationship with the two, I have worked in the University for 5 years and 3 years in the Hospital and I have kept my good contacts with them. The University has helped me in many occasions so I will use my good established relationship with these parties. University can always help in transporting the stakeholders to the nearest pick up point and for the catering Hospital always helps in giving me the venue.
Most of the staff members are new in the field of research in my site,but the Lab Manager really helps me in many things.At times its difficult to even get the PI understand the importance of the Community Members but I have done a wonderful job because now she is able to even attend out Community meetings and Community events.
I am very fortunate to be employed in a rural area where no one can do anything without someone’s approval, The site is aware that the success of the study depends on the stakeholder involvement and its input, as some one who is the go between both parties rely on me. To archive a common understanding I used a transparency method. if and when there is any update from the sponsor the stakeholders are called in for the meeting or a conference call so to share the information and it has worked for me.
