Cathy is the PM of the HIV AIDS Vaccines Ethics Group at UKZN South Africa. She is a clinical psychologist. HAVEG does research and resource development for ethical-legal complexities in HIV vaccine trials. Her particular interests include ancillary care, consent and children. She sits on the National Health Research Ethics Council in SA. She hopes to learn more about how IRBs/ RECs can increase the impact of GPP when they review protocols for HIV prevention trials.
