Well, I might not be so involved in some clinical matters regarding staffing but I believe GPP stakeholder work is really underfunded, I believe some more advocacy push need to put forward to achieve support. Quite agree with Mark

And most research implementers in our site do have little understanding of GPP Concepts not really entrenched in their understanding. I believe this On-line will go long way in making sure we all can make a Change and build our capacity as GPP Advocates and also push for it to be entrenched at the national research regulatory board in our various countries.
JamesMemberRetention of study participant goes currently with the entry phase activities conducted before a trial commences, entry phase goes a long way in making sure that participants are not only aware of the benefits but also perceived risk and this can be carried out through context of HIV Research literacy of community stakeholders.
JamesMemberI quite agree with all, CAB members are community stake holders with different backgrounds, knowledge and understanding with varied cultural/ communal perception, so its imperative as bamidele outlined not marginalize but carry all along at their pace, training and re-training, dialogues, focus group discussion will bring about effective feedback and effective representation OF A CAB
JamesMemberWe also organize workshops that covers HIV research literacy and there we have community stakeholders airing out their concerns about current research trends in Nigeria. So if not for their engagement, we might know how to make our trials more community driven
JamesMemberIts Important to get stakeholders involved, as part of community engagement, its important that community stakeholders especially do have an active voice in any issue or recommendations raised in a research.
JamesMemberSincerely, as member of the CAB in my own site, i look back to times when stakeholders were not properly engaged. The Impact was not too good. There were misunderstandings form the start of the trial, there were no effective CABS even if a research in Nigeria 10YEARS ago says so. The real truth was at the end proper information was not passed to participants of research, research participants were used as guinea pigs to accomplish a research, The benefits, consequences of a particaular research were not well outlined to members of the stakeholders caucus especially community stakeholders. Research dissemination was even a taboo to be carried. There was no protection of trial participants inclusion injustice was a norm those days. Thanks to HIV Research Literacy that encompasses GPP as a Strong components. We would be no where in research methodology in 10years time if we werent part of this GPP course.
JamesMemberWell, i will love to learn more about co-enrollment, for my site in lagos, Nigeria, we just have only one site in the particular study, so may be co-enrollment will be new to me

Its just the right time in the right direction during an era where research is gradually becoming a priority to improve health for all.

In my research team, GPP is moderately practiced the elements have been well embedded yet in process. Currently, am orientating members of my research team on GPP for now and i gladly believe they start accepting the tenets of GPP as sustained practice that enhances research
