Erica i couldn’t agree more.. Food for thought 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thank you Anne and the GPP team 🙂
DenverMember1) how do you engage with schools? consents? time? after school not possible.. – Topic adolescents in care at youth friendly clinics
2) i have learnt GPP, i understand GPP and im a proud owner of the GPP guidelines.
My knowledge has drastically grown and i can now apply GPP.
i feel confident working at trial sites and knowing exactly what is going on and where 🙂
DenverMemberDagna i agree. they did work with limited resources. i guess its how they are used.
<span style=”line-height: 1.5em;”>volunteers do play i good part also getting an outsiders view.</span>
DenverMemberI think CAPRISA uses ways to gain peoples trust and confidence, the way they build relationships in the community. on the positive side retention in care in accomplished and greater window for recruitment is opened.
CAPRISA also offers education (building schools). this gains more trust and understanding. they are very practical and dont only focus on HIV.
DenverMemberI agrees pearson, CABS are vital 🙂
DenverMemberBeing illegal. The community and media will need to be informed regarding the trial.
Regarding the trial protocol there should be measure taken to protect the participants.
Regarding the incident, local healthcare providers should be contacted,
The media should be made aware and a statement should be out.
To prevent reoccurrence more awareness should be made to the media
DenverMemberDagnas, i agree this 1 is hard..
but look everyone deserves the right to care, but taking into account HIV is terminal so i agree higher care is needed compared to PHC and minor elements of local communities!
DenverMemberThis trial is compromised due to the lack of clean needles. the reports will not be published. the media and public will not be aware or made aware of this. the results will be incorrect.
During the trial protocol these stakeholders was supposed to be engaged regarding the issues that can happen.
DenverMemberHilda , interesting example. very informative. social cultural issues and community beliefs are relatively important at different sites.
DenverMember1) Give an example of successful stakeholder engagement in protocol and/or IC development. What changes were made as a result of the input gathered?
A Draft Protocol is developed. Community and CABS engage to modifying a trial protocol. This Document will outline the trial details and is developed before trial initiation. A range of stakeholders can provide meaningful input into many aspects of trial protocol development
Changes can be the trial protocol changing. specific changes can result in :
population changes and site selection changes
Site selection -Example Community stakeholders, funders and networks engage to evaluate the site to conduct research.
2) If a protocol gets sent to your trial site in final form, how would you address the GPP recommendation for stakeholder involvement in protocol development?
i would first have to see if the engagement plan is linked to the research program. Engage with CABS for input. look at the partnership for stake holder engagement.
DenverMemberHi prudence .. is it because social media was not informed? or informed ?and made aware
DenverMemberHI Jess. very informative.its a way to challenge to also educate.i think it will work regarding responsibility and tasking the cabs.
DenverMemberAlicia-i agree the past engagement was just for information but future it is at every step of the way engaging.
DenverMemberRoss, great example.with education continuous awareness is explained.
DenverMemberJontraye, i have worked with FHI 360, i agree they do support CABS and work closely with them during trials.
