Step 2: HIV pre-training self-assessment

Take the Self-Assessment.  A passing score of 80% or higher is required to begin the in-person training.  If you score below 80%, you may take the Self-Assessment again by pressing the “Retake Quiz” button.  You are only allowed 2 tries to pass the Self- Assessment. There is no need to print your results, they are recorded automatically.

Step 3: Final registration for in-person training

In preparation for the training on December 14th, please email your Quiz Results to your site coordinator.  In addition, please read the Fingerstick Waiver form.  You MUST sign this form at the in-person training on December 14th to participate in the Fingerstick Training portion of the week.

Step 1: Review of pre-training materials

Please review the linked presentations on the basics of HIV/AIDS.  Each module covers basic information that you need to know before beginning the course.  Each module should take you approximately 15 – 20 minutes to review.  Please ensure you plan enough time before the in-person course to complete each module.

Step 1: Preparing for HCV training

In preparation for the training on December 2nd, please email Jose Luis Guzman (jose-luis.guzman@sfdph.org) with your HIV Test Counselor ID number and the agency you are attending the training on behalf of. If your do not have a HIV Test Counselor ID number please send email with your agency name.

HIV Counseling Pre-Training Quiz

We have covered a lot of material in this online pre-training course. By now you are well prepared for the HIV Counselor Training.

This online training, and the observations and trainings you have experienced at your sites has given you the background to be a knowledgeable and engaged participant in the live training. We hope you feel confident and committed to participating actively in that training. It will help you be an effective HIV test counselor.

You have now completed the training and are ready for your exam. This test will reflect important information you have learned throughout this training. You must score at least 80 percent on this test to be eligible to take the HIV Counselor Training. You may only attempt to pass the test with 80 percent or higher 2 times.
