Welcome to the GPP Online Training Course!

This week, we will cover the course orientation materials and explain how to navigate the Learning Management System (LMS), including the online training modules. Module 0 provides learners with a brief overview of key features of the modules.

Refer to the GPP Orientation Webinar slides for an overview of course requirements and brief explanation about the LMS. Review the GPP Online Training Course Syllabus. If you need additional assistance, reach out to the course instructors (Anne Schley and Jessica Handibode) by using the Messages function.

Please make sure you have reviewed and completed all of the Orientation Materials and assignments before beginning Module 1. Complete the all of the following assignments by Friday, August 14th!

Please complete the following steps in the listed order:

STEP 1: Upload a fun photo to your course profile so that others can see you!

STEP 2: Complete 

Offline Viewing of orientation Module 0: For offline iPad viewing, click here. For offline viewing on a laptop PC computer, click here. . Remember to download content while you are connected to the Internet. The course syllabus also contains important instructions about online versus offline viewing.

STEP 3: Complete the Baseline Assessment and Evaluation. You must complete this before continuing onto Module 1.

Other important technical considerations:

Knowledge Check: You can retake the Module 1 Knowledge Check as many times as you’d like throughout the course. Using the Course Map, click on the screen titled “Knowledge Check Introduction” to retake the Knowledge Check as needed.

–When viewing the modules, please note that you have to click on all clickable items (i.e plus signs or text boxes) on each screen before continuing to the next screen.

GPP IAVI Lesson 3: June 15-19 2015

Welcome to Lesson 3!

In this lesson, we will cover Module 5, which highlights the relevance of engaging stakeholders in proactive communications planning as well as the benefits of utilizing their expertise when reacting to an emerging issue or crisis during a trial. Module 6 illustrates opportunities for stakeholder engagement and input into protocol development and informed consent procedures, which are often decided at the trial network level.  You will also learn about the additional criteria the GPP guidelines recommend considering when selecting trial sites.

Please make sure you have reviewed and completed the Lesson 2 assignments before beginning the modules in Lesson 2. Complete the following assignments by June 19th.

July HIV Counseling Pre-Training Quiz

We have covered a lot of material in this online pre-training course. By now you are well prepared for the HIV Counselor Training.

This online training, and the observations and trainings you have experienced at your sites has given you the background to be a knowledgeable and engaged participant in the live training. We hope you feel confident and committed to participating actively in that training. It will help you be an effective HIV test counselor.

You have now completed the training and are ready for your exam. This test will reflect important information you have learned throughout this training. You must score at least 80 percent on this test to be eligible to take the HIV Counselor Training. You may only attempt to pass the test with 80 percent or higher 2 times.

GPP IAVI Lesson 4, Jun 22-26

Welcome to Lesson 4!

In this lesson, you will be introduced to some of the important considerations in negotiating a standard package for HIV prevention. You will also consider your process of developing linkages to care for those who seroconvert during a trial or are found to be HIV positive during screening. You will also have the opportunity to analyze stakeholder engagement in the planning for trial-related harms and non HIV-related care.

Please make sure you have reviewed and completed the previous modules and assignments before beginning Lesson 4. Complete the following assignments by Friday, June 26th.

Welcome to the GPP Online IAVI “Short Course”!

This week we will cover the course orientation materials and reinforce how to navigate the Learning Management System (LMS). In addition, Module 1: The Importance of Good Participatory Practice will refresh your knowledge about the history of GPP, rationale for the guidelines, as well as the different types of stakeholders relevant to HIV prevention research.
