Training Overview:
The goal of this training is to explore with participant how to best integrate a harm reduction approach when providing services for people who engage in sex work. Through the training participants will explore how internalized stigma can lead to harmful behaviors and discuss strategies to promote more effective engagement skills with individuals who are actively engaged in sex work. The hope is that through evaluation of one’s own potential role in perpetuating sex work-related stigma, providers will develop new strategies for building more authentic and productive relationships with participants.
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Discuss how to make services more accessible for sex workers at the program.
- Integrate harm reduction for sex workers into programming.
- Provide services for people who engage in sex work, more effectively.
