Moses Kigozi (Bsc Hons. Psychology) is the National Program Coordinator at CHEDRA (Community Health, Empowerment, Development and Relief Agency). CHEDRA works in partnership with IPM (International Partnership for Microbicides) and Medical Research Council (MRC)-Masaka to conduct advocacy for the IPM -HIV Prevention Ring. Its programs include but are not limited to; HIV Prevention, Sexual Reproductive Health, Advocacy, Human rights, Women Empowerment, Malaria control, Domestic violence Prevention, Education, Water , Sanitation and Hygiene, among others.
Moses begun working with non-profits while at university. He volunteered with the Uganda Red Cross Society as the Chairman of Makerere University students’ link. I worked with Rakai Health Sciences Program for his undergraduate internship and then HIV related research project. He worked with Masaka District Network of AIDS service organizations (MADNASO) as Program Coordinator. In 2011-2012 he was the GlobalGiving Country Director for the Story telling Project in Uganda, and later in 2015 to date, he was appointed the GlobalGiving Country Ambassador for Uganda. He is the founder and director of Bugabira Day and Boarding Primary School, a board member for Kasanje Youth Farmers association, Board Member for Masaka District Network of Civil Society Organizations (MADNASO). Executive Committee Member for Masaka HIV consortium. He is a District Immunization Champion for Lwengo and Masaka District. He is also the team leader for the Uganda International Marathon 2016. Moses is well connected to many NGOs in Uganda.
His interest to pursue this course is driven by his curiosity in the field of public health. This course will help him answer the question that intrigues his mind about how the HIV problem can be addressed effectively in a resource limited country like Uganda and how civil society organizations can be guided to develop cost effective biomedical HIV prevention programs that make a greater impact.
