I have seen the use of existing communities structures and fora to be helpful rather than recreating alternative measures which may not be acceptable by communities. Communities have their way of conducting their consultative processes of issues that concern them. It is therefore critical for research teams to acknowledge such and ride on. In so doing, stakeholder engagements seem seamless, less time consuming, and less stressful for stakeholders. This is likely to enhance the sense of ownership and motivation among stakeholders.
