Ensuring a common understanding of stakeholder engagement and its value throughout the trial is critical for the success of the research project. Stakeholder mapping at the initial stage enables all stakeholders to be aware of each other as well as the different contributions they bring as well as expectations.

Establishing relevant committes Reference/working Groups is one of the strategies I have used. Previously I have been involved in the formation of Reference Groups. This primarily involved representatives from different relevant institutions. I have also been involved in the formation of Community Advisiry Boards. Such groups need to be trained on a the specific trial and the processes involved. Effective feedback mechanisms need to be put in place to ensure continuous and regular feedback.

My involvement has also been with organising and conducting general community meetings as well as meetings with different organisations and departments within organisations.
