For this issue, we can prevent and plan for mitigation of social harm by:
– In order to determine the ways to manage and solve the problem of social harms, the research team should discuss with stakeholders including MSM groups, local human rights NGOs and media to learn about what issues or factors that can lead to stigma of and discrimination against trial participants, what issues that can lead to social harms before the implementation of the trial.
– In addition, before the trial, we should have a plan for promote the trial by constructively communicating with the society from the beginning to educate them about what the research institute is doing and for what purpose.
