DESCRIPTION:Training Overview:\n\n\n\nMotivational interviewing (MI) requires practice with accompanying feedback. This practice-focused training is intended to be a highly interactive session for individuals who have already been trained on the basics of MI. We will focus on more advanced MI skills and participants both observe and practice giving one another feedback in a series of role play sessions. Attendance at an introductory motivational interviewing training is required. \n\n\n\nAt the conclusion of this training\, participants should be able to: \n\n\n\n\nRecall 5 strategies to effectively build motivation for change amongst program participants\n\n\n\nName the five clinical principles of motivational interviewing\n\n\n\nIdentify four types of resistance\n\n\n\nList four clinical strategies\n\n\n\n\nFacilitator: Tanagra M.
