SUMMARY:Harm Reduction and Sex Work (HRTI)
DESCRIPTION:Training Overview:\nThe goal of this training is to explore with participant how to best integrate a harm reduction approach when providing services for people who engage in sex work. Through the training participants will explore how internalized stigma can lead to harmful behaviors and discuss strategies to promote more effective engagement skills with individuals who are actively engaged in sex work. The hope is that through evaluation of one’s own potential role in perpetuating sex work-related stigma\, providers will develop new strategies for building more authentic and productive relationships with participants. \nAt the conclusion of this training\, participants should be able to: \n\nDiscuss how to make services more accessible for sex workers in the program.\nIntegrate harm reduction for sex workers into programming.\nProvide services for people who engage in sex work\, more effectively.\n\nFacilitator: Melissa Matheney \nOrganized by: The Harm Reduction Training Institute and the National Harm Reduction Coalition.
