I am the Director of the Center for Learning & Innovation, a new training center within the Population Health Division at the San Francisco Department of Public Health that aims to build the capacity of the public health workforce locally, nationally, and globally. For the past 12 years, I have conducted clinical trials of experimental HIV vaccines, herpes suppression to reduce HIV acquisition, and PrEP, with a recent focus on developing novel mobile health strategies to improve uptake of and adherence to PrEP, particularly among MSM. I also serve as the Director of the Mentoring Program for early stage investigators at the UCSF Center for AIDS Research where I am an Associate Professor of Medicine.
